What we do

A bit of our history

The mission of the Cigarra Foundation is to provide 'comprenhensive quality care' to the vulnerable population of Puertas del Paraíso, Ciudad Bolívar in Bogotá. We have 180 children aged from 1 to 18. The 5 to 18 year olds attend the Foundation on their alternate school hours. In addition to having a safe place to learn and play, we offer nutritional and psychological support and seek to strengthen their development through music, technology and English programs.

Our Projects

Balanced Nutrition
In the Foundation we are constantly confronted by the malnutrition of our population. We try to provide 220 children, adolescents and adults with a quality, balanced diet. This is one of our major expenses and our objective is to procure a monthly income that will cover the food, the charges and the salary of the 3 people who work in the kitchen.
